Who We Are
Kara and Dan are a husband-and-wife duo, passionate world travelers, dedicated volunteers, and nature-focused educators. Dan is also a published author. As experienced teachers and guides, they bring a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to both classroom and outdoor learning.
With a combined 40 years of experience working with children, Kara and Dan have taught across five grade levels in public charter schools, designed and led leadership camps, and facilitated outdoor education programs for school groups in California and New Jersey, and overseas. Their commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, having volunteered with children abroad, fostering global connections and cultural understanding.
Through engaging, hands-on experiences, they inspire young minds to explore, collaborate, and grow in nature’s classroom on their journeys to become life-long learners.
